Necklace Care
Each Late May Goods necklace is handmade with Japanese glass beads or natural stones. Hardware is gold plated or silver plated with a stainless steel centre, strung on stainless steel wire. We can’t promise our pieces will last a lifetime, but with thoughtful wear and care they can be enjoyed for many years.
To keep your necklace looking its best
Keep away from water. Remove before showering, swimming, bathing, washing up and exercise.
Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, lotion, sunscreen and cleaning products.
Store in natural fabric such as linen or cotton when not worn. Our product bags are perfect for this.
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight and heat, which can fade some stones.
Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth if needed.
Avoid tugging, snagging, dropping or sleeping in your necklace, as strain on the wire and clasp shortens its life.
Glass beads and stones can chip or crack if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces. So beware when you’re flicking your hair around.
About the plating
Gold and silver plating is a thin layer over a stainless steel centre. With wear, friction and exposure to moisture or products, plating can gradually soften or wear away, revealing the steel beneath. This is normal for plated jewellery and is why gentle handling and dry storage matter.
Natural variation
Glass and stone beads are individual. Slight differences in colour, pattern and shape are part of their character.
Safety information
Not a toy. Not suitable for children. Small beads and parts are a choking hazard, and the necklace is also a strangulation risk. Keep out of reach of babies and young children.
Check your necklace regularly for wear, loose beads or a weakened clasp. Stop wearing it and contact us if you notice damage.
Remove before sleep and sport to reduce the risk of snagging.
Some people are sensitive to certain metals. Stainless steel and plated metals may contain traces of nickel. If you have known metal sensitivities, please contact us before purchasing. Stop wearing the piece if irritation occurs.
